I bought a Hunter fan Model 21778 that uses 2 incandescent candelabra lights. Before installing it I called Hunter support to see if it was okay to use a dimmer switch for these lights (I had already purchased a Lutron S-603P-IV Skylark Dimmer). They said not to because it would cause (1) a buzz and (2) the condensor to burn out prematurely. Please tell me your opinion on this matter. Thankyou Mike Papero

They're right, you don't want to control the whole thing with a single incandescent dimmer. First of all, the fan-speed and the lights will all be controlled by the same dimmer setting (dim low, low fan-speed - dim high, high fan-speed) - and the dimmer's not rated to control fans anyway which can result in exactly what they said.

There is a Skylark control, the S2-LFSQ- where half the knob controls the light, the other half controls the fan. The only problem you may (and most likely) have is that in order for that to work, between the electrical box for the dimmer and the fan, there needs to be seaparate wire run for the fan, and a separate wire run for the light so that the dimmer can individual control both.

If that's a problem, I recommend the MA-LFQM-, which includes a module that you install in the ceiling with the fan. The wall switch it comes with speaks to that module, and gives you independent control of the fan and light without having to install new wiring. I have one of those myself, I've installed one in one of my friend's houses, and they work pretty well and then you don't have to worry about what wires you've got in your wall.

Hunter fan Model 20722 lights flash several times when turned on?

Not the capacitor. If this fan has a remote make sure it's set for incandescent bulb & not CFL bulb. Should be where you install the battery. Also, make sure you're using the correct wattage as it might have a limiter in the fan.

How do we fix a hunter fan light kit that blew a bulb and now we can not get new bulbs to light/

You might check the light limiter, a.k.a. wattage limiter. Check the manuel for the location. F you dont have one you can find one on the hunterfan.com sight. Some of the fans only support low wattage lights bulbs (candelabra light bulbs) 60 watts and lower. You might have to open the light limiter to check for burn marks. If there is you need to buy a new one. And if you cant find the lights at a store you can always find them at a online store.

Dimmer isn't working nor the home shield light setting

I would double check the wiring of the fan. Is the remote an add-on that was purchased separately, and did it include a receiver unit which is installed in the fan housing? If so, I would double check the wiring of the receiver unit.

Difference between an incandescent light bulb and a ceramic light bulb

No difference in operation. Ceramic bulbs are incandescent, but they use a base made of ceramic materials rather than the standard metal, screw-in base found on household bulbs.

Hunter Fan # 20723 The Westminster - lights delayed when turn on

Here is the answer I received from Hunter Technical Support.

"The light fixtures are manufactured with a limiter that prevents a higher than recommended wattage bulb from working. The limiter causes the slight delay even when the correct bulbs are is in use."

Pretty annoying if you ask me.
