Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

The defrost cycle is usually terminated by a 60 Deg bi-metal thermostat. If the defrost heating element is not heating up the unit will shut off until the internal temp reached 60 Deg F and then restart.

Defrost cycles are 10 - 12 hours apart depending on the defrost control installed so that explains the 12 hr repeat. I really think you have a bad defrost heating element. Here is why I say that...
1. The Defrost cycle is 12 hours after last defrost. (Means the defrost control /board is working)
2. The defrost cycle terminates at 60 Deg F
3. No working defrost element will cause very very long defrost cycles due to the time it takes for the compartment to warm up to 60 deg F and terminate the defrost cycle.

The element is item 33 of this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5164987&diagram_id=28252332#d28252332

Just looking at the drawing it appears that the Defrost heater and defrost thermostat are an assembly.

You should be able to read resistance end to end on the heater assembly. If you have no resistance it is most likely open / has failed.

The defrost thermostat will read resistance anytime compartment temp is BELOW 60 deg F.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Sime ecomfort plus 30 HE keeps cutting out and shows a flashing green light. Sometimes it will run ok for a couple of hours before cutting out.

I had the identical problem with the same model. Technician eventually diagnosed faulty fan; the fan cools the heat exchanger. When fan fails, exchanger overheats and boiler automatically shuts down. It is possible to restart the boiler when it cools down but when the heat rises again - off it goes! Only answer is to replace the fan. My technician did the same as yours - on first visit he got the boiler running and left. Half hour later, boiler shut down. I read the installation manual and operating instructions and when he called again I pointed him in direction of fan, which had failed completely. These guys!

My gen starts and runs for 1 min or so then dies restarts then dies again and again. if i start it under load ( turn on air con) it will run for 10 min then die allen

Is there a fault?? All UL listed generators including Kohler are required to lockout on a fault on shut down. This really sounds like a problem with your 2-wire auto start connection between your automatic transfer switch and genset. RDT model automatic transfer switch it is the 2 middle wires on the green connector and terminals 3&4 in the generator. close to run and open to shut down. Any open at any time will cause the unit to shut down. The 12 will shut down instantly upon an open because your 5 minute cool down is built into the transfer switch.

When i restart the system don't turn on again

something may be wrong with the power supply. i have a computer where the power supply is faulty and it used to shut down automatically after 1 hour. nowadays, it shuts down more frequently, whenever restarted, it will not come up again. i have to wait for sometime so that power-supply can cool down and i can start. -Nitesh Kumar Anand

We just got back from a five hour trip, shut the car off and cooling fan stayed on for about five minutes. I restarted the car, and it went from 200-1500 rpms slowly, shut it off and fan stayed on again....

I have a 2001 S60 and the thermo fans come on after nearly every trip for at least 5 minutes, I would check your coolant levels and certainly change the thermostat if the problem persists.

Car dies while driving

It could be something as simple as a bad or loose ground wire but the hard part is finding it.

2000 caravan 3.0 stall after 20 min no spark restarts few hours later

This sounds like a bad (probably cracked) ignition coil.

First, the coil gets hot when operating, and this is normal.

If it is cracked, it gets hot to the point where its resistance gets so much higher that it cannot provide enough voltage for spark.

When it cools back down it starts working fine again.
