hi there.
my wife has m.s. and i understand where you are coming from and how tired you will get from time to time.
have you told you work place that you have m.s.?.if not you need to.
your co-worker is wrong to say that to you,but does your co-worker know what you have?.
maybe you need to explain to your co-workers what you have and how it effects you,and you could ask them to read up about it.
hope you are ok and you get it sorted.
all the best and good luck.
Typically many manufacturers can recommend a belt change range of anywhere from 50,000 miles to 70,000 miles. The fact is that belts are very difficult to determine whether they need replacement or not as they often show no visible signs of distress, even up until the point that they fail completely. Therefore, although belts are said to be designed for the life of the vehicle, manufacturers play safe and recommend an early change.
From my experience with belts on a vast array of brands, I would generally stick with the 50,000 mile rule of thumb. Not because belts often fail after this figure, but only because they are so unpredictable, and at around the 50,000 mile mark, the actual tensioner bearings acting on the belt may begin to show signs of failure.
All belts are different. Manufacturers recommend 40 to 50,000 miles. I have seen belts last over 100,000 miles. I probably would look mine at around 70,000. And depending on condition it's in to change it.
Beware. Many of these repair shops make most of there money by scamming
people and doing this type of work when it is not necessary.Auto manufacturers design new vehicles to last a many times longer without any type of service.I do recommend getting a full service at around 100,000 miles.Timing belt, plugs ect.You should change your air filter every 30 to 35,000 miles.
Plugs and wires at 50,000 miles, the timing belt should last 100,000 miles. I am curious why the first one was replaced at 45,000? I am thinking you may have replaced the serpintine belt.
$400 to $500 dollars... and the replacement interval is not 50,000 miles.. it's 60,000 (by the way, the reason the belt should be replaced is the fact IT'S GOING TO BREAK.... no doubts!).
on any auto about 50,000 miles is average it's cheaper to replace the belt then an engine. when the belt breaks most engines will bend the valves and toyotas are good for that
yes it should be replaced every 30,000 miles it is the weakest link on the engine and will destroy the engine if it breakes. However if it is chan driven then they last longer and would go 50,000 beore changing.
