Turned Panasonic Viera Plasma tv off last night with remote. Cannot turn it on this morning using remote or at the tv. Red light flashing.

Hi,
Red light flashing indicates some hardware/ circuit board failure in tv, please count how many times red light flashing after long pause as it is an error code that has info about specific section failure in tv.
Let me know how many times red light is flashing in this Panasonic TH-42PX60 tv to provide you helpful info to solve this issue.

    Thanks for updated info.
    10 times red light blinking indicates problem with two boards PA board and H board in tv.
    Below image shows location of above said two boards inside tv that needs to be replaced by professional if you are not familiar with electronics stuff repair.
    Hope these info will help you.

    These boards are available on very reasonable price at shopjimmy.com
    Click H-Board link, price is $45 and PA-Board link price is $35 plus labor of local tv repairman.
    Electronic circuit board can go bad any time without any obvious reason so it is very hard to explain why these boards become defective.

The solid red light and the glow of the screen indicated the set is on . also if set is on a red light should be emmiting from the optical out jack. Seem like you have lost audio and video. If no menu appears when pressed on remote the replace the main board. Panasonic calls this the A board.

Sounds to me like one of the drivers for the display died. Typically this requires a replacement of the entire panel (expensive) but I'd check with your local repair shop

Pairing Sky+ Remote with Panasonic Viera remote
1. Press tv on your Sky remote control.

2. Press and hold down select and the red button together until the red light at the top of your Sky remote control flashes twice.

3. Press tv again

Then enter the remote control code using the number keypad. The red light will flash twice if a valid code has been entered.

Panasonic Code: 0051

4. Point your Sky remote control at your TV and press the Power button. If this turns the off as you'd expect, then the tv should be set, press Select and the remote should work

5. If the TV does not turn off press tv, then press the Power button again, repeat this process until the TV turns off, when the TV turns off press Select.

42" Plasma TV Problem
same frustrating symptoms on brand new 42inch here! tv just turns itself off sometimes without warning or if changing to certain channels. leaves red light flashing for a while then red light goes away. any attempts with remote gives flashing green liht on tv. manual power off and on restarts tv but auto off again. found while manual power on keep changing channel on remote till stable picture appears. then use remote to shut down tv - solid red light indicates standby mode. then use remote to turn on again... till next time it happens. but what is technical fault??
