The light on my hunter ceiling fan flashes on and off when I turn it on. I have a model 21421-530 Type 2. Any ideas what might cause this? Ceiling fan works fine on all 3 settings, so I don't think it's the wiring in the actual ceiling.

Remove watt governor for lights. ( little black box). and wire lights direct. this is your problem.watt governors are used to reduce light output or energy. just remove it.

Great advice. I removed the watt governor and my light kit no langer flashes when turned on. Works great. Key in "watt governor" on fixya and it will take you to a comment that actually gives the part number of the governor.

Hello Jame,

If you have a newer fan the light probably does have a limiter in it that can be problematic. If It is a faulty receiver you can find them here. Fan Man Lighting.

How do I stop my ceiling fan light from flashing?

Make sure the wattage is correct. If it is then try a lower wattage.

I have a Hunter Ceiling fan, with light, and remote control; the light has been failing for a few weeks, but not doesn't light up. It will flash, and you can hear a relay in the body of the unit clicking,...

You probably need a new receiver. Call 1-888-830-1326 with the model # of the FAN and order a new one. Also, If the light is rated for 40 watts don't put in 60 watts.

I have a Hunter ceiling fan with a remote control model number 85095. The remote will turn the fan on and off and change the speeds but it will not turn the light on or off anymore. Any help?

Make sure the wires to the light kit are connected to the light & light wire connected in ceiling. If that's not your problem then you probably need a new receiver. Call 1-888-830-1326 and have your FAN model handy.Should be a five digit number beginning with a 2.

Hunter fan/light with remote installed turns on by itself

Many times this is caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. And, sometimes changing the frequencies on the remote and receiver reduce the occurrence.

But it sounds like this may not be the case, here. If not, the receiver in the fan is the culprit and should be replaced. No danger, just annoying.

Hunter ceiling fan

Sounds like the remote receiver units (located where the mains connect to the fans) took a surge and have failed.
