There are some DVD decoders for your reference:

1. Advanced Corel DVD Decoders
2. Roxio CinePlayer DVD Decoder Pack 4.3
3. K-Lite Codec Pack
4. Media Player Codec Pack
5. Windows Media Codec Pack

You can also use some DVD rippers to rip DVD to digital files such as Leawo DVD Ripper.

try cleaning the laser lense
If you have a dirty lense it can still read cd because data is not as compressed on dvd, each byte of data takes up far less space on a dvd so the dirty lense might not pick it up whereas it might pick it up on a dvd

Dear Sir,

Here is the solution.
To play DVD video you must have DVD decoder Codec.
So you can use power DVD softwares of VLC media players,these players decode the DVD video.If you had latest Power DVD software download and install it.Otherwise here is the link for free VLC media player Download
Download VLC player
otherwise download Trial version of Power DVD
Download Power DVD 9

I believ you can find a decoder at filehippo.com Keep in mind that DVD burning software will work even if you don't have a burner, just delet the icon from the desk top for burning, your media play will use the decoder in it. The burning software has a decoder in order to read then burn.
