Zebra Z4M Printer Logo

I have a Zebra Z4M printer. We use it to print on various labels - pre-printed and blank labels (semi-gloss). I've been struggling to print on one of the pre-printed labels. Everything else prints perfectly. For some reason, when I load the labels to print on it, it does not seem to calibrate and keeps giving me an error: "ERROR CONDITION PAPER OUT". I've tried checking if the sensor perhaps moved and calibrating it, but nothing seems to work. I'm puzzled, since I can still print everything else perfectly.

Some labels are hard to calibrate, nee to calibrate the sensors with manual calibration.
1} go to the MEDIA AND RIBBON CALIBRATION,
2}take 2 or 3 labels from the base paber, load the way to the based paper stay unther the sensors, 3}close printhead.
4} press ok.
5} Move the ribbon out from sensors and close the printhead.
6) press ok
7) wen printer ask RELOAD ALL, load the labels correcly and the ribbon, close the printhead and the top door, and press ok. The printer run the calibration it self.

The printer will print one label correctly, then feed out a blank one. when the next label is printed, the printer reverse feeds the blank label into the printer to print the next one, but not far enough...

This sounds like a size issue, meaning that your label has too many lines and that kicks to the "next page".

Look for too many line items on first label.

Z4m printer will miss labels in jobs. I've saved the job in the spooler and if I resend the jobs the blank labels will print out so I know the job is good. Any suggestions welcome.

Check the label size is set correctly in the application. Try using a driver from Nice Label or Seagull Scientific websites to suit Z4M (Not Z4M Plus). Recalibrate the printer and try again. Remember to setup the driver correctly because the driver will override the printer settings.

Check the "Dithering" setting in the printer driver. Turning "Dithering" on improves graphics but reduces speed of processing.

Yasemin, the most practical solution is to design your label on a software like a label matrix or zebra designer and print to a file and have the ZPL codes. Roberto Martinez Mexico [email protected]
