Things You'll Need:

  • Electrical outlet
  • Fuses
  1. Check that the power cord is securely plugged into the power outlet.

  2. Make sure that the power outlet is receiving electricity by plugging a different device into the plug and turning the power on. If the other device does not work you likely have a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

  3. Replace the blown fuse or reset the circuit breaker as needed. If it happens again, an electrician should assess the problem.

  4. Contact akai Support if Steps 1 to 3 do not solve your problem. Only a trained service technician should attempt to fix the power problem with your television

Brinks out door timer with photo cell

Make sure photo eye is not exposed to the light, or it will blink or not function as expected

Brinks makes very cheap timers. Return to Walmart and buy better brand such as Intermatic, Tork, GE, or Woods since these timers are supported by known websites and companies

When startin up it would show a message that air flow was blocked replaced the Thermal Sensor, now the timer lite blinks green then the lamp lite blinks yellow and the green light go out. I hav a new lamp...

Hi,

After the TV has shut down, without pressing reset: press and hold both the Device (Input) and Menu buttons on the front panel until the green light starts flashing. It will flash a two digit code: 3-4, 3-8, 5-7, etc. You may have to let the TV shut down a couple of times (without pressing reset) before it will give the code.

Please post the code to help me determine the section of the TV that has failed and what it will take to repair it. It may be a good idea to repeat the test a few times to make sure the TV is giving the correct code.

Let me know.so that we could proceed.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

The green timer lite is blinking and the tv will not turn on. It's a Mitsubishi Medallion we bought about 5 years ago. It has a 64 " screen from corner to corner. This didn't match any option I was given...

Good Day,
You have a couple of problems.

(LED does not stop blinking after plug in) Disconnecting the USB connector from the Card Reader did not help. Remove connector FC from the FMT PCB and plug the unit in, if the LED stops blinking after 70 seconds with FC removed suspect a problem on the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002), if the LED keeps blinking with connector FC removed suspect a problem on the DM PCB (part # 934C116002).

(LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the DM PCB (part # 934C116002) check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 UFD, 16V, 105C), if any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C). See Service Tip VS-78A

(LED does not stop blinking after plug in) On the FMT PCB (part # 930B924002) check C8F19, C8F21, C8F22, and C8F27 (16V 1000 UFD 105C), if any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C). .

I would not attempt to do this on your own! Call an Autorized Service Center, it wikll cost at least $ 750.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

I try to turn it on but it just blinks on stand by

Probable Lamp. If lamp hasn't bown the red Lamp Lite won't flash but other lamp issues cause stby timer light to continue flashing. If stby red lite is flashing, count the no. of times flashing - could open thermal fuse (6X flashing)

Sony kp61hs30 standby/timer lite flashes 8x and tv shuts off

The 8 blinks usually mean that there is a problem with the high voltage section of the set. This can be the flyback transformer or other parts in the same horizontal circuit. This is not a repair that I would suggest be attempted by non-service personnel. Expect a parts cost in the $100-$150 range plus the local labor rate.
