Hi there i am wondering how i get to stop my touch pad on my compaq 620 laptop?

old 620 windows 7 loaded. 32 bit or 64??????????
8 years old now.

use a USB mouse and forget the touch pad, ? option 1.

they broke the touch bad ribbon connector or its socket.
the touch pad can be bad.

find a real shop that fixes things and not fix one and break others.

if the OS is not infected
and the HP real driver is there from HP not hackers or cloner bs.
then the pad is bad or cables not put back on it correctly
that is 3 possible.

it's really just 2, HW or SW (hard or software)

there must be a small button right above the mouse pad, when you press that, the mouse pad is turned off

press FN & F9

You can try to install or update the drivers.

You have perhaps a CD for your presario Compaq computer. Try to insert that in your CD rom and look for the touch pad to enable. Or just look for the touch pad in your device manager and enable it. To open the device manager, right click computer and go to properties and click hardware then click device manager. If touch pad is in the list enable it.

hi. if its a physical problem, try using a eraser with it and then clean the thing with the eraser. i do it on my my laptop and it works for me. so yeah.

Just restart your laptop, if it doesn't work, remove any external mouse you may have. If that still doesn't work, the touch pad is bad. Get warranty repair if available.
