I just purchased my Frigidaire GLTF294OFS2 washer and dryer set in November 2009. It is only 14 months old and my washer has water in the drum. It will not spin or drain that I can see. If I start any of the cycles it makes a deeper sound than it does when functioning properly. Please help! I can't believe I am having a proble with something so expensive and that I have only had just over a year.

I understand that your Frigidaire washer will start to agitate and no water will enter the drum. This could be an issue with your water valve or the control panel. I would check to make sure the water lines are opened and the connections are not restricted or damaged. The higher you raise the dryer, the more pronounced the vibration will be. This can be a result of worn bearings or spindle the allows the drum to spin around its center easily. This is not really a DIY project unless you've got tools and a fair amount of mechanical ability.

The scraping sounds may be from these same bearings and spindle parts - but can also be the result of worn out drum glide pads on the front of the dyer that supports the spinning drum. You can purchase these as an entire set (model specific part) and replace these fairly easily with a few simply tools and modest amount of mechanical ability. You can see the process in this video:

You can reduce the amount of shake by slipping vibration reducing pads such as "Shakeaway" from Lowe's (and others). If one set under the dryer doesn't provide satisfactory results, adding a second set under the pedestal just might.

warrenty problem

Get rid if that piece of **** and buy another brand all together. Mine started doing the same thing at 3 months old and I couldn't get any help with the problem from Frigidaire or the store where it was purchased. If anyone from Frigidaire is reading this and would care to help out by standing behind your product my e-mail address is [email protected] If not then I'll keep slamming your products and refuse to purchase any either. Your company has very poor technical help. A don't care attitude would pretty much sums it up.

this is a failed timer device. simply replacing the timer control module will eliminate these issues you are having.

If you try to wash too many items with the water level set to low it is hard on the drive sysem and will kick out the motor.
When the motor resets it should work again but its very bad for the motor so II would try not to do it again.

Washer- you need a complete tub and bearring kit. this is a common problem for people who have well water. (also just happens) the rear yoke has become corroded and broken. its a costly repair.

dryer - you would need a new front slider seal. very simple to install.

Probably the rear bearing has failed and caused the drum to rub against the heating element. Hey, is this the guy that said he heard a noise last month? LOL

there still models out there from sears that go on the same way as the old one trust me i know 4 a fact

Hurlewan Your washer is still under manufacturer's warranty which is one full year. If it has Kenmore's name on it you do not need proof of purchase. The only thing you need is your mother-in-law's home phone number at time of purchase because Sears keeps all their records based on phone numbers. Good luck, Gendos post back....
