Press and hold the reset button on the rear portion of the router. This will reset the old password. Make suer to log back on to your router using the username administrator and password admin

start - run- type in cmd- enter- type in ipconfig /all will show router address should be 168.192.1.1
open internet explorer and type that # in the address bar
should connect with router
leave password blank or type in password for the password
enter the router setup and configure router to your preferance
If you read your instruction manual most of them come with a default password and the login name is usually Admin. you log into your router by using a web browser and typing in http://192.168.0.1 . From the router menu you can create your own password.
First connect your router to computer with ethernet cable. Then you can access it with following link http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password" then go to wi fi security set your WEP code it is your password to connect wi fi network.
To do that, you must first configure your router. Type in your browser the ip of your gateway. To get your gateway ip, type in your command prompt "ipconfig". Once type, you will be prompted with a username and a password. If you used this for the first time, the username and password are the default of your router. Once you are in, there is a menu there that you can configure to put in your wireless password. Choose WPA, it is much stronger password type.
