My wife and I share an email address. Can we have two seperate facebook accounts with one email address?

It isn't possible to have two Facebook accounts on one email address. It is however very easy to open a free web based email account (like Gmail for instance) and use that for your Facebook account.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to use an email on more than one account for Facebook.

There are many places you can sign up for free emails such as MSN, WindowsLive, Gmail, Yahoo etc.

There isn't a way around this to date. You must create another email and confirm your new Facebook account from it.

Sadly the only solution is to create a new email address for a different account, Facebook does not allow you to use two DIFFERENT accounts on ONE email.


If you are using gmail, it may be possible to register two different Facebook accounts as gmail can be displayed as two different emails. There is a solution for that here:

However, I cannot speak to whether or not this information is reliable.

...is free and has 7Gb, so you can leave it alone for ages and it won't fill up with spam.  Or, you could open an account and in the
Settings --> Forwarding and POP/IMAP
...part, set it so that all emails from your new account are autometically sent on to the address you and your wife share.

If you do open an account; make sure you make a note of the email address and the password somewhere, as it's easy to lose passwords for accounts you don't use often.

Then, of course, you open your facebook with your new gmail account email address.  Job done.

1) Create a new email for you wife.
2) Make sure that you sign out if you wife want to sign in. Go to facebook main page (http://www.facebook.com) instead the login page.
3) If the steps failed, the easiest way is to clear your private data on the browser.

Try this : open your web browser and got to www.facebook.com the generic web page should appear, if not click the logout button this should bring you to the generic start page with the sign-up boxes. AKA the "Welcome to Facebook" page. On this page enter the appropriate info for YOUR WIFE and create her account. Hope this Helps . If not repost.

you have to have your own email . get one through yahoo or aol

Buddy u cant be online from the same email address at the same time and even not online by two accounts at the same browser.

My wife started a Facebook account : does it mean u have created a seperate account in ur name ?

solution : 1 if so , u must have got the activeation mail : please check ur inbox and junk folder . if u dont find the activation/confirmation mail from face book , then looks like ur alternate mail has been used primary contact : 

solution 2 : ask ur wife to login to her accout and then later log off . 

then sign in with ur personal account and see if the creadentials are valid . 

(u can view 2  diff account on the same browser , unless 1 of the account is logged off ).
