This is a typical problem with the "lid switch" on the washer. The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.
Would this be the problem if it stops halfway through the Rinse cycle and doesn't even get to the Spin cycle? Each time I put it closer to Spin or directly on the Spin cycle, nothing happens.
Can I get to this switch w/out taking anything off? Is it a switch I can flip like a light switch?
You have to open the cabinet to replace the switch. It's not hard to do. If you could give me the model number that is under the lid, I will be able to direct you to the part. Here is a vieo to show you how to replace the switch.

I did push on the switch. When the switch was pushed down it works....the problem I think I have discovered is that the plastic piece that holds the switch (or lever the switch is pushed against) has broke and the screws no longer hold it up. I am guessing to get the plastic piece that holds it up I need to get the whole piece/switch/unit.
You can go to your local "Sears" and they will have that plunger for you.
Perfect.....thank you very much!
You bet, let me know how it goes for you.
Worked perfectly! The installation was a breeze and that was indeed the problem. The washer now cycles correctly through rinse and spin. Thank you!
Glad it worked for you. If you get a chance, please leave a Testimonial for me. It will help with my "Guru" status here at FixYa.
Thank you!

I feel silly asking this...but how do I leave a testimonial? I couldn't find where to submit one?
