Picture on my sony kds 60a2000 tv goes out and then comes back on repeatedly, what could be wrong

bad power supply. Contact SONY for advice. They will pay for the repair and service call if it is still under warranty

With the set turned off:

RESETTING THE LAMP TIME
When replacing the lamp, use the following to reset the lamp time.
1. If the Self-Diagnostic screen is already displayed, proceed to step 4.
If not, Power off (Set to Standby mode).
2. Press DISPLAY Channel 5 Sound Volume -
POWER
3. To access the Lamp reset, press 5 until the TIME category displays.
4. Press 1 until the RSET item displays.

The power supply regulator board has the fault. There ie no repair to this board. You have to replace it as card basis.
This is the picture of the said power supply board to your Sony TV.

This is a error code normally its the lamp thats burnt out. Count how many times it blinks and check this link for the diagnosis.
