The tub has stabilizers on it ... remove rear panel and make sure the shocks are still attached and or not broke... if all this looks good is the unit on a pedestal if so there have been alot of problems with lg washers and pedestals.... i know your saying well they sell them with the washer as a optional feature ,but they have been giving fits to lg for the last couple of years.... if the shocks look good then most likely you have a bad hall sensor located also in the rear of machine on the part called the stator .the stator is a round device that attaches to the rear of tub and has a copper coil that goes around the entire thing... on this device is a white plasetic device called a hall sensor that measures the spped and balance of unit if unit starts getting out of balance the hall sensor will slow machine down.... good luck to you

Why won't my washer spin?

Sounds to me like your washer tub had a very unbalanced load in it (heavy blankets, jeans, or pillows, all piled to one side instead of evenly distributed around the inside of the tub), and it threw it off balance. When it began to wobble and knock, it may have broken the mechanics underneath the tub which make it spin. The only way to properly diagnose it is if you remove the outer casing of the washing machine and look beneath the tub for broken/out of place items.

Have a GE WSXH208HWW Spacesaver, Washing Basket is wobbling. What is the problem and can I fix it myself?

2 possible problems. On the outside of the tub front and on the top back are cement counter weights that are bolted to the tub. If they are coming loose, they would cause the tub to go off balance and wobble. If just the stainless inner tub is the one that wobbles, that suggests a bad rear drum bearing. The counter weight problem easy to fix once you get the top and back off and just need re-tightened. The back drum bearing is something even trained techs want to avoid. It requires removing the complete tub/drum assembly from the washer----then splitting the outer tub in half to replace the inner drum and bearing assembly. Cost for parts will be excessive and not worth the repair.

Top load ge washer wobbles on spin cycle when tub is empty

Have you purchased this washing machine recently or have you just moved house?
I'm wondering if you have left the transit bar in situ?
If it is an old machine you may have a worn rubber mounting bush or similar.
I'm not a domestic appliance engineer but have some mechanical backround knowledge.

Tub is off balance

The tub is out of balance. When it starts hitting the sides, stop the washer and move your clothes around inside the tub to balance the tub. Now start it to spin again. This should stop the tub from hitting the sides.

THE TUB IS WOBBLING AROUND INSIDE THE MACHINE.

either the top tubs "balance-ring" is leaking the balance solution and needs replacing or the tub springs are broken or disconnected from the tub

Two speed auto washer - found water all over floor - no leaks on any hoses or drain. Wife said last load was unbalanced and machine was rocking around bad. Tub seems very wobbly to me when I move it...

having a very unbalanced load can cause the water to go over . yes the tubs are supposed to be able to move around some.run a load with no clothes in it if it leaks then you may have a more serious problem

Off balance spin cylce

The base of the tub assembly rests on a white plastic ring called a 'snubber'. If any type of lubricant gets in this area, the tub will wobble excessively. The major cause for this issue is a failed transmission where oil has leaked out and into the snubber. The transmission may be warranted for 10 years. Check your owners manual. A good method to check for oil is to tilt the machine back and remove the plastic cover in the center of the pulley, if it contains oil, the transmission is leaking also look at the inside cabinet wall for signs of oil splatter.

Spin

Does this happen with every load? I've had this happen occasionally but it was caused by one or two heavier when wet pieces of clothing that caused the tub to get off center and it would wobble out of control. By just rearranging the wet clothes to balance the tub it stopped wobbling. But only after making sure that the heaviest objects were on opposite sides if the tub.
