My LG washer won't turn on. When I press the power button, you can here the power on jingle but the display does not turn on and when I turn the cycle selector nothing happens. This a fairly new washer a little over a year old.

Replace the main control unit under the inits top cover in the left rear top corner & inside the plastic cover if when you open the cover that protects the mainboard from water spray(if theres NO RED LED lit on the control board) then its the board that needs replacing,if it has the LED lit then run the diagnostics per the tech sheet located inside the machine and it will tell you whats actually wrong, next step is to replace the touch pad located around the selector knob on the front face of the unit

I had the same problem after loosing a damper. Turns out when the damper failed knocked out a plug in on the main panel. The LED is very hard to find when it is not on. The LED is located close to the bottom in the middle of the board.

Front load washer LG wm2140cw with error code up side down FE. Any ideas what this means? Will start to run then error code shows up and it stops.

A tE error code on the display of the washer indicates a heating error, usually caused by a faulty thermistor.
  1. Unplug the washer from the power outlet for 10 seconds.
  2. Plug the washer back in and press the POWER button and then the SPIN SPEED button until No Spin is selected. Press the START/PAUSE button.
  3. Once the washer has drained, restart the wash cycle.
  4. If the tE error code appears again, close the water taps and unplug the washer. The washer will require repair service.

I have a LG steam washer 4.2 cu. ft. that the display doesn't come on but has tub light on why doesn't display come on?

have you heard beep when you turn it on? if not washer is off. If it won't turn on could be the power button(or main baord). Compare the touch of power button with the other buttons. Light on means you have power coming to the washer. Thx

Buttons not working on lg washer

I had this problem with another model LG washer dryer and the problem was just the tiny switch (6mm x 6mm) on the circuit board had worn out. They cost about 30 pence on eBay and are very easy to remove and re-solder onto the circuit board as there are only 2 pins. This saved a huge amount of money for a new control board.
