Convergence problem The color convergence is off. I tried manual Convergence and straightened the colors with the cross but the red and blue are still off. It extends the picture so you have three pictures instead of one. I tried automatic convergence and it doesn't help any. It's worse on the sides instead of the middle. Can you help?

Your model has two boards that control convergence. One is the convergence board. the other is the convergence board power supply, usually when more than one color is off its the Convergence power supply that is bad. You can get replacement circuit boards at the following link.

What is convergence IC problem

Convergence has to do with how different colors are displayed on a screen or monitor - typically the rear projection and some other types. When colors are overlapping to create unexpected combinations, or leave gaps between areas where overlapping is expected that results in a shifted red, green or blue image strip or edge - that is an indication of a convergence issue. They can look like this in severe cases:

Colors will drift, so manufacturers often include a utility to help you nudge the colors back in the right place. Most times this utility is buried in the Set Up Menu and when activated, produces a screen like this:

You will need to adjust the red, green and blue colors for each cross so that only a white cross is displayed. Keep red, green and blue fringing to a minimum. When you're done, the screen should look black and white, symmetrical and straight - like this:

Problems arise when you are no longer able to coax the utility to give you these crisp, B&W results with no red, blue or green ghosting. This is often due to a failing convergence integrated circuit ("Convergence IC"). Many times, replacing it will solve the problem, but other times it can be the result of failing components either ahead or after this IC. If you're attempting to replace this IC, please make sure the TV or monitor has been *unplugged* for 24 hours or more to allow the dangerously high voltages to dissipate.

I have a Sony KDP-57WS550 TV that has a convergence problem. Based on the symptoms, I'm not sure whether to indict the convergence ICs. In the convergence mode, I can move the red (and blue) crosses,...

With your TV in setup Use a small magnet to "move" the non converged Red, Blue, or, Green color lines "crosses" (each CRT will need to be adjusted in turn) by moving the magnet close to the offending Red, Blue or,Green color CRT yoke or, tube while observing the movement of the CRT color line "cross" in a mirror ( try several places near the tube and, several strengths of magnets:) a refrigerator sheet magnet works well (you can cut these with a scissors to make a better fit or, apply less magnetic "pull." by making them smaller (you may need more than one magnet per tube to fix each CRT's convergence) When you have each CRT tube's convergence right, apply some clear silicone adhesive to the magnet and, permanently affix the magnet to the now "fixed" CRT tube exactly where you placed the magnet to obtain the best convergence on the CRT.
(Do not adjust the "Green" CRT unless you must, as it is used as the color line to adjust other lines to)

I have a toshiba tv model tp50g90 I have replaced the convergence chips stk392-110 convergence was corrected but I have a problem yet red not managed to focus on the user menu in the option of...

Thats the way it works. You have to adjust the other colors to the red. You adjust the red from the back of the set using the convergence magnets on the tubes. Then you adjust the other colors to match the red. It's much easier if you have the plastic screen from Toshiba used to align this set.

Trying to manually fix color convergence on Toshiba 57H81

The convergence ICs and the six 1.8 ohm 1watt resistors need to be replaced. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com which has the Two Convergence ICs and the six resistors plus the CD with instructions on how to do the repair.

Screen hazzy and issue with blue convergence

bad convergence would cause show to look as if it was supposed to be a 3-d movie, if a bulb was going out then people would look purple blue -green,or some other off color, so likely the green bulb is going out from the color of the people you described.

Convergence problem

You can download the manual here. Insrtuctions for auomatic convergence are described. I copied the instructions below.

Automatic Convergence
Your HD Monitor’s picture tubes might have been disturbed during delivery or
after you moved the HD Monitor, causing the color in your HD Monitor to be
out of alignment. The colors adjust by starting auto convergence.
IMPORTANT: Auto convergence works best once the HD Monitor has
warmed up for at least an hour. If you've just unpacked your HD Monitor,
it's a good idea to repeat the Auto convergence function when the
HD Monitor's been running for at least an hour. See page 38 for more
information about Auto convergence.
1. Press OK to begin auto convergence.
2. When the auto convergence is complete, the Red center convergence menu
appears. The cross in the middle of the screen should be yellow. If it is not,
use the arrow buttons to move the red cross to overlap the green cross.
Press OK when adjustments are complete.
3. The Blue center convergence menu appears with a cyan cross in the middle
of the screen. If it is not, use the arrow
