Did you change the HDMI cable? If so, you should check to ensure you have the cable installed so it is running the right direction. It may seem hard to believe but some HDMI cables only allow the signal to run in one direction.
How is your xbox connected to the tv?
If its connected with hdmi cable. Unhook it from xbox and plug it into the back of the cable box. If nothing happens then try switching the tv input with the tv remote. Should have several different inputs. Hdmi,video,component,etc...
DVI is same as HDMI in regards to the picture signal, but lacks the audio.
Apparently for some reason the TV does not pick up audio and that could be because the HDMI port has a problem (say physical contact) or because the cable has a problem or (of course) because the XBOX does not output signal for some reason.
My first two picks would be the port and the cable.
HDMI cable going from my time warner HD box to my new 50" panasonic viera (TH-50PZ800U) no sound, amazing video. the HDMI is a belkin btw if it's even needed to be known.
