  • Anonymous Apr 20, 2011

It's been A while since I messed with thing........ I don't think you understand. Sure there is a remote control and there is a menu button on the TV, but you can't access the menu on the screen when pushing either button. Original Post: " tv turns on but no picutre, no menu....." the TV has power, just cycles on and off, no blinking indicators...NO IMAGES on the screen... tech support over the phone can't diagnose and in home tech said it was the power supply.... I replaced Power supply... Still the same issue on for 30 seconds shuts off and then back on, no picture no menu.......

    Hello
Every TV must hanve its own Menu. From that menu option, we goes to the other sub options like picture control, advance controls and so on. If the remote control does not have the menu button, there must have an other button that does the job. Only markings will be different. But that button will do the same action. Just try and find out which button does the job, and consider as the menu butoon, and go on. OK..

Replace the mammory IC. This Ic an be located very near to the main system contorl section, close to the system IC. It is an 8 termimal IC, out of which four of its terminals will be connected to earth [negative] , one meant for +ve supply [5VDC], one for seirial data, and an other for serieal clock. Usually one pin will be connected either to negative or left unconnected {free}. The IC is not so expensive too. Replace it. Display and other are related to this IC. OK.

Great... that sounds like a plan, i'll take it apart again this weekend and see if I can locate and execute.. any thoughts on a place to order the part (IC)?

This must be the fault. Replace it. I'm sure that this will solve your TVs problem. OK.

1080 tv comes on for about 3 seconds and goes off

when it goes off do the self check--on front of set press and hold both the Menu and input (device) buttons for at least 5 seconds and release both buttons.

The power light will blink a two digit error code, most common is 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and it will repeat it several times

Let me know error code and I will tell you what it means and how to proceed.

Power shuts off 1 second after tv is turned on

Good Day,

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times.
1 - 2 = no error detected
2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current)
2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies)
2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection)
2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)
1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR LEAKY C9A60 470 PF 1000 V PART # 154P400030, PARALLEL TO D9A57 ON THE POWER PCB (NOT SHOWN IN THE SCHEMATIC).

2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT.

3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB.

I hope this was helpful, BIG IRISH.

TRY the self check it should have: when it shuts off on the front of the set push MENU and INPUT(sometimes called device) both for 5 seconds and release both buttons.

Power light should blink a two digit error code like:

2 blinks and a pause and 2 lbinks

let me know what code you get and I will tell you what it means.

if this has helped you, rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Mitsubishi projection tv picture and sound turn off but the power button remains on with no picture or sound turn tv off real quick and then back on and works for 2 mins then turns off again what could be...

Here's the basic troubleshooting:

  1. Make sure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.
  2. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV.
  3. Press the SYSTEM RESET button and hold for 10 seconds. Proceed if the problem still exist.
  4. Press and hold POWER and MENU buttons simultaneously for 20 seconds. Proceed if the problem still exist.
  5. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours.
  6. If it still shuts down, press the DEVICE and MENU buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold it for 5 seconds to activate the Error Code Operational Check. The status LED indicator will then flash denoting a two digit code.
  7. Count the number of flashes then pauses for about a half second then flashes again. The first number of flashes indicates the first digit of the error code and the second number of flashes indicates the second digit of the code. For example, if the error code is "35", the LED will flash 3 times, pauses, then flashes 5 times. The error code is repeated a total of 5 times.
Please let me know the code you got and I'll tell where the problem lies and how to fix it.

Tv mitsubishi ws-65315 doesnt turn on,only green light

Good Day, cutito35; 1. This model is equipped with a keyboard lock feature; this can be mistaken as a no power condition. To unlock the keyboard press and hold the "menu" button on the front panel for 10 seconds. 2. (Power LED may be on after plug in) check for no less than 4.4 volts DC at pin 3 of PC9A21 on the Power PCB, if low or missing replace PC9A21 part # 268P058020. 2.This model is also equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. Shutdown at power with self diagnosis error 2-2. Check for open fuses F9A04 and F9A05 part # 283P144080 on the +24 and -24 volt lines. If the fuses are open the convergence output circuit would be suspect. 2. Shutdown at power with self diagnosis error 2-1. At power on check for 12-volts DC at connector KH pin 8, if missing check IC9C51 part # 270P990010 and L9C52 part # 441D009020 on the Signal PCB. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Will Not Turn On

First you need to do a self test diagnosis and then if it comes up with:
SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK C411 2200 UFD 35 V AND C412 10 UFD 50 V, BOTH LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB
Do self test by pressing Input/Device and Menu at the same time for 5 sec. the set will show a 2 digit seq. first blinks followed by a short pause then the second.
