Our brand new T.V. constantly flickers. It is a LCD 55 inch T.V. and is great other than the flickering problem. We speculate that the source of the problem may be the cable which is cox, but we are not sure.

If you have another TV then you can swap it. See if the problem goes away. Of if not start with the cable. Make sure the heads are professionally placed on and not done by hand. You can get short cables from Radio shack that could help in tracing this out. Also you can try another wall outlet.
Thanks and good luck,
Shawn

Good morning my blackpoint elite 32 inches tv screen light keep blinking on and off every 5 seconds what cause this

LCD screen Flickers can also be caused by a loose or failing connection inside of the television set. The flickers may come from a failing connection ribbon or another electrical component that's near failing. Flickering caused by internal connection problems appears consistently regardless of the video source.

Proscan tv flickering

I'm sorry that the picture on the TV has constant flickering. Please follow the troubleshooting steps and check the operation:

  • Please make sure that the connections are secure and proper.

  • Try connecting a different video source like DVD player or VCR and check the operation. If it works with another device, the issue might be with the input device currently.

  • Also try connecting the device to a different port in the TV if no other devices are available.

  • If the issue persists, try with a different cable.

  • Perform a power resetting and check the operation. To perform the power resetting, unplug the TV from wall outlet for more than 2 minutes and then reconnect it.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you require any clarifications/additional help.

My monitor flickers erradically.

Flickering erratically is usually a sign that the fluorescent tubes that light up the LCD are failing, or the high voltage power controller that drives the tubes is failing. Although these can be replaced at some cost and a great deal of expense, it is usually not worth it with very nice, new & larger displays selling for less than $ 150 (23" HD wide screen moitors) from even the best brands such as Samsung, Planar, LG and Viewsonic.

How to solve Flickering problem of LCD

I have an Acer 5920G that's only 3 months old and it's screen started flickering. Updating or rolling back the graphics card driver made no difference. I then updated the Chipset driver from the Acer website. It hasn't flickered since!
The graphics info has to pass through the chipset so I assume the driver wasn't up to the job.

Good morning, Kevin!
Sounds like an LCD problem. You can verify this by hooking up an external monitor. The external monitor will probably show a good display.
After verification of the problem, you may want to try to replug the LCD cable at both ends, just to see if that corrects the situation.
If that resolves things, all is well and good. If not, you may need a replacement LCD.
If the external monitor shows the same display, you may have a motherboard problem.
Hope this information is of some help.

Flickering

When the TV is flickering, do you notice any noise in the audio? If so, it could be a loose connection inside the set or a High voltage transformer going bad. Does it constantly flicker or come and go. If the latter, can you slap the side of the TV or jar it to get the problem to come and go? If so, it is likely a bad connection inside the set. I'm assuming that when you were playing the movie that you used the A/V input jacks rather than using the tuner on channel 3. Otherwise the tuner could have bad connections or bad grounds inside. A repair shop will most likely have to fix this problem. If the set was over 9 years old however, I'd upgrade to a new HDTV set.
