You can try a new capacitor, or test your existing one. Plug its power cord directly to an outlet, no extensions, power lost in inapropiate power cords is also a probable cause. Does the motor turn by hand or is it sticking? One thing is an electric problem, another would be mechanical.
If your quick coupler is not jammed up, (remove & test) and assuming you are pulling the regulator knob out to adjust the pressure and it is not stripped, you will need a new manifold kit. There are about 6 versions of this unit so you will need model and type to get the correct part. There are no individual regulator parts available for this unit.
To remove the air filter intake muffle you will need to remove the 4 screws that hold the head on to the pump. There is a O-ring under the head you will want to put a little vasoline on before you reassemble the head back to the pump.
If you have a voltmeter, you can check the voltage coming out of the outlet. If you have some kind of residual voltage, such as 25 Volts AC or 10 volts ac, then you probably have a voltage regulator problem and your regulator will need to be replaced. If you read 0 volts then you you have an open between the output (outlet) and the windings of the stator.
CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU HAVE. IF ITS ON THE REGULATOR - THE REGULATOR USUALLY HAS AN INLET, OUTLET, GAUGE PORT AND A PLUG IN THE OTHER SIDE IN CASE YOU NEED TO MOVE THE GAUGE. SOME MANUFACTURERS PUT SAFETY VALVES IN THIS PLUG PORT. IF THIS DOESNT FIX IT GIVE A LITTLE MORE DETAIL. IS THERE ANYTHING WRITTEN ON IT. HOPE THIS HELPS, JODY
