i have just had my cam repaired for this some problem it is the ribbon on the hinge damaged wire in side i live in thailand and it cost 15.00 for the fix

No, can still see image in viewfinder when screen is fully closed, and when its fully open facing subject, maybe something loose or lost connection. Everything else is functioning well. Thanks

Have fiddled further, when flip screen is facing to subject then folded back in to the body of the unit, it works. Im thinking bad contacts maybe inside the joint housing??

My side flip screen does not work and the view finder only works when the side screen is almost - fully closed. I saw others with this problem and it sounds like a short in the cable. I was unable to view previous solutions and hoped you could advise me.
If you move the screen around does it make a difference?
