I am stucking with system Menu on progressive mode on Sony RDR-VX530

I cannot view any DVD/VCR movie on LINE/S-Video input mode.
TV screen is always black no change at all.
Please help.

Remote will not go to the System Menu and I get no video. Everything is plugged in correctly and has been working. I get audio from both th DVD and VCR just no video.

i am using a 511 and have a similiar problem. is there a way to factory reset the device without use of the remote. i accidently chose progressive in the system menu and now i am held captive!!!.

First of all, confirm connecting cables are correct n OK.
2nd, please confirm VCR is giving output signal or not.

I can't return to command mode dvd3 (default) from dvd1. Now my remote is useless and I can't find a way to bring up the main menu so I can get back into command mode dvd3.

Hi,
Slide remote lower cover and look for DVD Command mode set switch, set it to DVD-3 position, your RDR-VX530 will accept remote commands.

Check video input setting to DVD recorder...should be set to "External" or "Line". This should activate the video input jacks on the rear of the RDR-VX530 and allow it to "see" your Sony handycam.

No,you can not unless you use a separated converter box.There is no way to get the digital signal out of the tv to be recorded.

the steps are located on p. 101 of the manual you can download it at the link above. Its basically just adjusting the setting in the menu. The manual gives best directions with illustrations if you need any further assistance please let me know.

Recorded in VX530 DVD only plays in the VX530

it needs to br a dvd-r and formated in video mode. when done recording it needs to be finalized . see manual for procedure
