As long as the voltage of the battery is the same as the tool, the tool won't mind if the power is coming from a NiCd or lithium battery. You do have to have a charger that works with lithium batteries to charge them up. Chargers that can charge lithium batteries can also charge NiCd and NMH batteies. NiCd chargers are not always programmed to detect when lithium batteries are full and may continue to charge them to the point of melting or starting on fire.

Cordless 18 volt lithium ion sawzall hums and clicks blade wont move

I don't know what model you have but Milwaukee sawzalls use a wobble shaft and wobble plate to turn the rotary motion of the armature into the reciprocating action of the blade. If you motor is working (hums?) but the blade won't move one or more of these parts are broken and hitting eacher (clicks?) inside the gear case. You or a repair center will have to take the gear case apart to find our what's broken and determine whether it's worth repairing.

Milwakkee cordless lithium sawzall clicks but blade wont move

you have a gear problem, if this is a newer sawzall I would take it back for warranty repair. If you need a breakdown you can go to milwaukeetool.com and download one. They have a good warranty

My dewalt hammer drill with lithium battery drains battery instantly and is 6 months old

Even though it is only 6 months old, the battery could be faulty here as it seems it is not holding any charge.

What is the problem when a dewalt reciprocating saw (cordless) losses power

I am assuming you are refuring to the battery life. To be honest with you it is not a new problem. The Sawzall uses more power than the battery can store, so there don't last.

If this is a new problem for you that you are noticing less power with fresh batteries., They could be bad batteries. Barrow someones, if you can and see.

I hope this helps you. Please let me know if you have any further questions or if that this did help you.
