My laptop will not power up

I removed the battery n pressed the power button for 1min and then plugged it back on but when I press the power button, an orange light flashes 5 times and then stops... but still no display

Step 1:

Check the outlet that the computer is plugged into to make sure that is working properly.

Step 2:

Check to see when you try to power on the computer does it have any noise or lights that flash suddenly.

Whenyou connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED lightup? If not then -The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's powersocket could be faulty.Check power adapter's DCplug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltageshould be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on thebottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that isprinted on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.If the adapter is OK thenconnect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/batterycharging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's power socket.If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position this LED lightstays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a dry solder jointwhere it is connected to the motherboard.This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

i wonder if the mainboard has suffered a power failure due to power shortage through electrical system that it was connected to . if the lights do not appear on the media strip below the video panel and above the keyboard, that would indicate a power failure has resulted from the power supply burn out. That being said the mainboard has suffered a electrical sudden power down. Have you tried the AC adapter to ensure it works ? I would need the entire model number and S/N of the notebook to get some feedback from HP

Bro check your hardware power management system to adjust all your power configurations.

Sounds like your power circuit on the motherbard is cooked...really cheapr to buy a new one than to have that one repaired.

again $ again try 3 or 4 time to powerin on with ac mode,if not powering on then try it in backup mode with support battery if u dont have battery backup then get a battrey from any other laptop but it must be same model if powering on then change your adapter and try again if then also not warking go to nearer vender or service center.

What do u mean reset button, because i got a toshiba satellite pro 6100 and i plug in the power supply and all and the light indicates it is recieveing power but when i press the power button nothing happens i ahve tried holding the button down for a bit..but still

so fill me in on the reset button
