I purchased my Haier chest freezer 3.5 from HHgregg 1 year and 1 month ago along with an extended warranty for $50 in which I was told would cover the freezer and any food lost up to $100.*I called the store to report my freezer issue only to be told to call another company, A&E factory service, who sent out a repair guy who told me that the warranty really wasn't any good on anything accept the freezer major component and if that was the problem, and usually it isn't, that would not cover labor just parts!! It cost me $80 for a service call I did not know would cost me, only to find nothing accept the $50 warranty that I bought was worthless and that he could not tell me what exactly was wrong with the freezer!!! And everthing that could be possibly wrong such as the thermastat, or a leak (depending on where it was) would cost me more to fix than what I paid for the freezer!!! NO I am not Happy about any of this!! The service person told me the only reprocussion would be to contact Haier and NOT to purchase one of your appliances again!!! So not only am I out of $80 I did not have to spend on an empty service call, my freezer is still not working and I have no place to put the food that I currently have in storage in my neighbors freezer!!! I am a single mom with 1 income and I can't afford to be paying for a problem that I don't feel should exist after 1 year of service!!! Somebody PLEASE Help!!!

thermostat is stuck on! set to medium setting and gently tap stat. does it turn off? it was stuck. does it still run? its still stuck. if you feel comfortable find stat and power in and out. disconnect - it has to turn off then. but 99 % of the time its the stat. they fail closed and run 24 -7 or fail open and temps get real hot and they never close and restart compressor . yours appears to have failed closed. sometimes you can firmly twist em max cold to min cold a few times and break the stuck contacts and they'll do ok for a while. try to reset at a little higher or warmer temp when done so its not making and breaking on the same old worn spot again. good luck.

just bought one that a repair man had already been through with similar issues. i wanted it as a fridge so this was no problem. took me about 5 minutes to figure out the reason it wasn't freezing though...the switch at the top that turns the light on when you open it also turns on the fan when you close the door. the door however sits just a tad too low to fully engage the switch. put a piece of tape over the switch and let it cool for 24 hours. chances are this will solve your problem!
