Need to set up a pass word on my router - Linksys Wireless-G WRT54GS Router (e125894)

just click on your wireless setting at the bottom right of your computer it might be under hidden click on to your wireless settings in there it says set your security pass word put a pass word in and remember it and thats it

You will ahve to connect by wire to the router and go to the section for wireless security and see what it is set to. If asked for a User and Password and you know it was never set the the default is one of these combinations:
User: admin
Pass:password
User: admin
Pass:administrator
User:password
Pass:password

If none of these work you can try using the master reset which should be on the backside and usually requires a toothpick to press. If you do this you will need to redo all the settings because it will erase them.

Password from ISP or router? IF you dont know pass from ISP, you can check from your ISP.
But if you forget PASS for router, then i sugget that you try setting back your router. Reset it back and setting it again

Log into your router's web interface, if possible through a computer connected to the router by cable, by starting an internet browser and navigatng to its maintenance IP address, usually set by many manufacturers to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. An authentication request will come up. As you haven't speciffied your router model, there are routers whose both user name and password fields are set to 'admin'. Other routers use 'admin' as user name only, requiring the password field to be left empty. Once you get into the router's web interface, go to the wireless settings, and change the wireless passphrase to a new one of your choice. Make sure to change the other devices, which use to connect to the router, to the same new passphrase.

Is there any computer online using the router.
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
router set up page is the page where you can check all the router settings.

Ok, on the bottom of the router there is a reset button you need something small to push in. Once you press this the router will go back to fatory settings and you can set it up again with a new password and settings.

You set your security by enabling WEP.

When you get in the interface to configure WEP, set a pass phrase. Write down the 3 numeric keys it generates. Then connect to the wireless using your laptop, etc. When it asks for your passkey, do not enter the pass-phrase; enter one of the three keys that were generated by the router. That's the biggest mistake people make when trying to get wireless to work.

then go to wi fi security then u see encrption security then u can reset pasword easily.

reset your router.
it is in back side of router u found reset swich.press it for 5 seconds.then your router reset to factory defaults.
then access with following 2 links 1 is right.
http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.0.1
thn enter username :"admin"
password is"admin"
or password is blank.
then go to settitngs and set pasword

there will be a button at the back usually that you can press in for about 10 seconds.


this will restore the router back to factory settings.
