Acer Monitor boots up w/computer then "no signal"

I disconnected my Acer monitor from my desk top and attached it to my laptop so I could have a bigger screen to work from. When I went to reconnect it back to my desk top, it would start up, the computer would boot up and the monitor would get as far as the Windows screen that appears right before the computer is fully booted, and then all of a sudden the monitor goes black and the "no signal" message comes on and it eventually goes to sleep. If there is something wrong with it recognizing the desk top, why would it go through all the boot up steps and then decide it doesn't recognize the desk top anymore? What can I do besides get a new computer?

You must have disconnected it while the pc was running.damage can occur while doing this as can a keyboard (they are not like USB devices that can be plugged and unplugged while "hot".)

How do I boot up a brand new ACER Aspire AXC-704-ES61 with Win 10 preloaded for the first time, with everything hooked up properly.

Try booting with nothing connected and see if it boots. Also make sure the montior input is set to what you have plugged into the computer or try a different connector like the vga output in event that is what is set in computer BIOS to be the primary display. Maybe it is coming on but you cant see it due to wrong display etc.

Laptop screen problem

If you have access to a desk top computer monitor, plug it into the side port on the laptop. (usually a blue port) and see if you have a video signal. If the Desk Top Monitor functions, and the Laptop is black; your Laptop screen is NG.

Got power but no screen

A way to test your Video section is to attach an independent desk top monitor into the port on the side of the laptop computer. If you cannot get a desktop picture on the monitor, then your Video portion has been compromised and needs repair by a technician.

Monitor not working

On the laptop, you'll need to change the video mode so that the laptop knows to send the signal out the VGA port. The two common ways of doing this are to find the Function key and the monitor toggle button. It's usually one of the F-Keys at the top of the keyboard in combination with the Fn key at the bottom. Hold the Fn Key and press the toggle key a time or two with the external monitor connected. If this doesn't work, or you can't find the keys, leave the monitor connected and reboot the laptop. When the laptop boots up, the OS should detect the external monitor and automatically turn it on when the OS boots.

Why do I get a "No Signal" on my Acer x193w monitor?

sounds like a video card issue.  Check the screen on another computer.  If it is doing the same thing, it is the monitor.  If it doesn't, then you have a video card issue
