Hello,

how long have you been using this player? I suspect the laser (lens) of the player. I think the laser (lens) is weak that's why it cannot read data/files on DVD discs.

To confirm if actually its a laser problem, insert an Audio CD into the player and see if will play. If it plays, then obviously, your laser (lens) is weak. But if it doesn't play Audio CD, then it might still be the laser (lens) or a mechanism problem.

Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.

If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.

To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.

Once this us done, your player will play all DVD discs again.

Good luck.

Ms. Cortes bought 20 blouses for P2,400 and marked them to sell at P145 each. After selling 16 pieces at this rate, She decided to sell the remaining blouses at a lower price. at what price may she sell...

total cost of blouses p2400
16 sold at p145 = 2320p
p2400 - p2320 = 80p loss on original stock cost
to make a p480 total profit p480 + 80p(cover loss) = 560P
560P /4 = 140p
560p +2320 p = 2880 ptotal proceeds
profit = proceeds - original stock cost
profit = 2880p - 2400p
profit = 480p

How do we convert avi to mpeg?

The method for doing this is to use a piece of software such as WinAVI you will then be able to convert .avi files to an MPEG format. You will need to know which formats of MPEG your DVD player wil support such as MPEG, MPEG2, MPEG3, MPEG4.

Otherwise you should be able to purchase a new DVD player which will support multiple formats like, Dvix (.avi) WMV, etc, etc

Have the Samsung DVD-AR650. When I insert a blank

My last recommendation, before seeking a replace or repair; would be to run a cleaner disk. Optical drives can be affected by dust on the optical block lens or dust on the disk itself. Sometimes a dirty lens can even cause your drive to eject the disk when you try to read it. It is recommended you clean your lens every 3 months in an office environment, or once a month if you use the drive in an industrial environment. They range in price from $3 to as high as $130. SAMSUNG DVD R120 error EC:0207

I had exactly the same problem -- error message of "This disc can be neither played nor recorded. Please check the disk [EC:0207]" after the machine had been working fine for a year. I downloaded the latest firmware from the Samsung website, burned it to a CD-R disk (took three tries until the DVD Recorder recognized the disk -- worked when I used Rocio CD Creater software), then loaded the firmware updates to the DVD Recorder. On the Samsung website you can retrive the firmware update instructions as well. I had to perform the firmware upgrade several times until it successfully updated both the system firmware as well as the disk firmware. After successfully updating both, the Recorder now recognizes the DVD-R disks and I was able to resume recording. I have however, noted some choppiness with the playback of the newly recorded disks. Other than that, the firmware upgrade successfully resolved the problem.
