I have a skype account but i am unable to login

At what stage does it fail to connect to your account? Does it give you an error message?

Double check your skype login details are being input correctly, try resetting your password.

hi, let me see if i can help improve ur day... 1st of all skype been experiencing a few outages from the other day so there is a chance there is nothing u can do at this moment. i recommend u verify u r using the most current version of the skype by opening skype then click on help then select check for updates if there are updates available install it. if u dont want to do all that go to the skype website and download and install the latest version for ur system.
As for ur password there are three ways comes to mind... go to the skype website and try and login using the password u used to setup ur account if u are able to login then the problem is with skype service and there is nothing u can do at this moment but wait. however if ur password dont works then reset ur password by using ur secret questions r selecting forget password and have it send to ur email address.

Register in skype and activate it first in your mail account and then login to it.
