I experience the same "power on" problem with mine, bought february 2007.
Just called the Dutch servicedesk of Samsung Electronics, just gave the serialnumber, next tuesday I will receive a new monitor.

my samsunng 940mw lcd monitor will not power up. was no power light nothing. sometimes turns on but now is completely dead..
Same problem. Took 1-5 minutes to fully turn off after strange blinking and popping noises with repeated power button pressing.. now it just literally won't do anything.. dead. I am calling them tonight with model/serial numbers. I bought this December 2006 and have progressively had power issues.. sometimes it randomly would turn off even.
My syncmaster 940MW is also down. It was working fine, an hour later I wanted to turn it on and it did nothing. Totaly dead.

my syncmaster also has the same problem. when it does turn on, i have to hold the button and watch it blink prolly 30 times before it turns on....thats when it turns on at all, which lately it has not been doing so.
