How do I change the water filter? I can't figure out how to get it out.

The water filter is on the back wall of the fridge, take a look at the replacement filter to see if it is threaded or bayonet type, that should help you figure out how to remove and replace... good luck

You need to cut water supply to filter, you may want to put a bucket or something to catch water under it, then, press the button on filter to release pressure in filter. If you have a wrench for it, the wrench should slide up from bottom and engage ribs on side of filter. Turn counter clockwise to remove, sometimes you can do this by hand. You can also use a strap wrech, just don't break canister. You also want to try not to strain your pipes if they are not supported. Any way, you may have to figure a way to grip canister to twist off. You do not want to overtighten for this reason. After you change your element, make sure the o-ring in the lip inside of canister is in place. Twist back on, clockwise. Turn your water on and check for leaks.

Water Filter Status Light (on some models)

The water filter status light will help you know when to change

your water filter. When the water filter status display changes from

"GOOD" to "ORDER," this tells you that it is almost time to

change the water filter cartridge. Replace the water filter cartridge

when the water filter status display changes to "REPLACE." If

water flow to your water dispenser or ice maker decreases

noticeably, change the filter sooner. The filter should be replaced

at least every 6 months depending on your water quality and

usage.

After changing the water filter, reset the status light by pressing

and holding the FILTER button for 3 seconds. The status light will
change from "REPLACE" to "GOOD" when the system is reset.

Changing the Water Filter

1. Press the eject button to release the filter from the base grille.

2. Pull the filter straight out.

3. Turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it from the filter.

IMPORTANT: Do not discard the cap. It is part of your

refrigerator. Keep the cap to use with the replacement filter.

4. Align the ridge on the cap with the arrow on the new filter and

turn the cap until it snaps into place.

NOTE: You can run the dispenser without a filter. Your water

will not be filtered. Simply insert the cap all of the way into the

base grille and rotate the cap until it is firmly in place.

5. Remove the covers from the O-rings. Be sure the O-rings are

still in place after the covers are removed.

6. Push the filter into the base grille. The eject button will pop

back out when the filter is fully engaged.
7. Flush the water system. See "Water and Ice Dispensers."

Water Filter Status Light:

The water filter status light will help you know when to change your water filter.

When the dispenser control panel's water filter status display changes to "ORDER," this tells

you that it is almost time to change the water filter cartridge.

Replace the water filter cartridge when the water filter status display changes to "REPLACE."

Details:

Pressing and holding RESET FILTER starts the 3 seconds countdown. Using the dispenser

cancels the countdown AND no dispensing is permitted. The number '3' blinks 3 times and the

'invalid' tone sounds 3 times and user has to release both the pad and the button and press

the button again to start it over

After 3 seconds, the BLUE WATER BARS in the Icon flash and an audible tone sounds 3
times. When the system is reset, the "ORDER" and "REPLACE" icons will disappear from the

display screen. See figure 16.

Turn the water off IN & OUT, (If this is a Culligan pre-filter it may have the shutoff valve on top), Press the red pressure relief button and hold it down for several seconds. Use the wrench provide and unscrew housing. Clean out the housing, lubricate the o-ring with silicone lube, replace filter and housing. Only tighten the housing by hand. Turn incoming water back on. It helps to hold the pressure relief button down after turning water back on to purge the air.

If the water filter has been changed. And there is water going to the door, then the valve or circuit to icemaker is bad, or the unit or door is frozen.

We had this happen several times to us, too. I finally figured out that anything that pushed against the filter would cause the collar to crack. It needed to be changed. My solution was to slip a simple plastic container around the base of the filter while I was replacing it and presto! The container does not allow anything to push up against the filter. Problem solved.

• in case you haven't figured it out by now. open rt side door and top right corner is the filter push the little plastic tab and the housing drops down , a quarter turn counter clockwise and the filter should pull out, reinsert the new filter screwing clockwise and close housing, remember to pull water from dispenser right away you will have let air into system so some sputtering will occur till its purged
