Drivers We came across aDeskjet 1220C in our office. No one has a driver for this printer for a computer running Win 98. All the drivers I have seen on the net either are for XP/Vista or they want to scan your computers to update your drivers. But like I said, this printer is not installed yet. Is there someplace I can go to simply download a driver for this exact printer? Hp.com no longer supplies drivers for anything but XP and Vista. Ken [email protected]

uninstal the printer driver
go to the printer manufacturers web page , find the model and a suitable win operating system and download from there
win 98, win xp and win 7 are no longer supported by Microsoft so an bugs with the drivers will not be fixed by Microsoft

For Windows 8 and higher, the driver should be available through Windows Update. Make sure that the computer is connected to the internet and connect a USB cable between the computer and the printer. The printer should be on. If you do not see any activity, try accessing Windows Update and checking for updates manually.

HP 1220c driver for Win 7 is nit working, need help

Win 98 does not support plug & Play USB devices unless the drivers are installed. Xp how ever does. you need to install the drivers to be able to used the device in win 98. since you did not get a driver cd, best would be to download the drive from the net. if you abl to give me more details of the device, i would be able to find the driver.

I can not find a win 98 driver for your printer on the HP website. DO yu have the instalation disk that was writen for win 98? If not try installing the printer through  the control panel. Either printers/fax or through install new hardware.The first being the preference. Some of the win OSs have printr drivers already installed.
If this does not work out, then the printer has no drivr available for that version of windows and you ewither have to upgrade to Xp or use a different printer which has a driver for win 98.

I think I will save you some time telling you that there is no driver for Pixma IP1800 running on Windows 98/ME.

The printer had been built to work on windows XP/Vista, and drivers for 98 were never made.

Here or here you find two of the many threads on Win 98 driver for Pixma IP1800, all of them end in nothing. I can speak portuguese, the links wrongly provided are drivers for XP, and won't work on 98, and there is also no brasilian website distributing drivers for this printer on win 98, that was just a legend.

This printer won't work on Windows 98.

Drivers for Win '98 may not be available for this printer. Checked HP's website online manual. Nothing is said about support for Win '98. Options- upgrade your computer to Win XP (you might need some hardware upgrades, RAM, Hard disk etc.). Purchase a new or newer computer. There is the possibility you might be able to use drivers for an older HP Deskjet, such as the DJ694 or DJ8xx series. Drivers are downloadable from HP's website.

USB cable: First, do you have USB connections on your machine? If you don't know what they look like, look online, or a computer store salesperson could show you. It is possible your Win '98 machine doesn't have them-
