Question about HP Pavilion dv6835nr Notebook

1 Answer

On my HP Pavillion dv6835nr laptop, the color is messed up. The areas that should be white, are mostly green/torqoise, with white ting to things. The edges of the green areas are quivering. The other colors in the task bar, tool bar and other places are not correct. When I try to change or correct this in appearances, it makes changes, but does not correct this problem. When the computer was last shut down, everthing was fine. This problem showed up when it was booted up the next time. It did this 3 or so times before, but I was able to get it back to normal, but did not know why it came back, Is this a problem with the LCD, screen, mother board, or other things?? I did some research that gave some of these things as possible problems, along with some other possible things that it could be. Does this sound like a hardware or software problem?? Looking for any answers as to what this problem may be. Thanks

These HP posts are always HUGE walls of text.
that is ok but wow.
but then no photos of MESS?
must we guess that?
but if your LP has an external 15pin Video jack (d-shell type)
that uses any external display seen on Desktops
you can find out this your self
if the external works, then the internal hardware is bad.
easy no? shows the 1 VGA (15-pin)
jack there and the hot function key that ENABLES IT.

HP does not plan to provide Windows 7 drivers for your model. It is suggested you revert back to Vista or XP and then run the windows 7 compatibility check BEFORE trying to switch.

Color are messed up white is pink

Is it messed up if you plug in an external monitor? if no then something is messed up in the internal connection in the computer and you would need to take it apart and replug in the video cable on the back of the monitor panel.

I have a hp pavillion S50 15in crt and it has a green hue to the screen.

There are a few things that can cause this. The two most frequent: (a) Has the monitor or computer been moved? The connector may be loose or slightly "off" of the port on the video card.  (b) If that's not the case, does it happen all the time? It's possible that one of the color 'guns' is off or malfunctioning - which means, essentially, a dead monitor. A 15" CRT just isn't worth fixing these days.  The little buttons beneath the monitor, unfortunately, do nothing for color adjustment - just brightness, contrast, and the usual positioning controls.

Acer Laptop TM240 , display has green tinge....

This is one of two things.

The first is that the color settings in the advanced section of your display properties has been altered.

The second and unfortunately the more likely is that your lcd screens back light or cfl (compact fluorescent lamp) has began to fail, usually due to age.

If this is the case you can either replace the entire lcd panel or just the cfl. Changing the lcd panel is fairly straight forward, but changing the cfl while it is the cheaper option it is a much more technical job to complete.

Hp pavillion dv6835nr dvd player

Try this, put a DVD movie in the drive, then open windows explorer (Right click the start button, click explore) then see if you can read the DVD files on the DVD.

If you cannot browse the DVD then the DVD optics of the drive have failed and you will need to replace the drive.

Too much yellow in picture

The problem with the set is that the blue gun has gone weak, and not emitting at par with red and green guns in your picture tube. Turn of the blue screen and get the grainy display on the screen (detach the cable) and enter into service mode to fine tune until you get a perfect or black and white grain pattern.
