My Dell inspiron mini 10 is just over 1 year old not used very much at all, last week for no reason there is no display on the screen, I tried to reboot on battery power and ac no luck. Thanks Frank.

Q1, why ask here and not dell.com, they made it and make the rules, here.
there is no generally, sorry, there are 3 generations of PC.
so 3 gens is the answer.

my guess is gen2, due to AGE alone.

why not ask dell how to do this, they designed it,
here I am searching for you in the correct place, at dell.
they will tell you , call DELL.
1: ask the person that set this PW what is the PW.
2: if that is lost you get to prove you own it at dell.com (on the phone)
3: if at wits end , hacking. (pulling the coin cell on modern PC is useless) works on Gen1 very old PCs only.
4: google all week for hacks? there are some. and many brick the PC for ever....

You will need to know the operating system or model number to determine which version of a Mavis Beacon product is compatible with the Inspiron Mini. The Inspiron Mini 9 came with Windows XP. The Mini 10 1010 could have XP, Vista or Windows 7. The Mini 10 1012 came with XP, Windows 7 or Ubuntu Moblin. The Mini 12 1210 came with XP or Vista.

it is 2 days old have it serviced or replaced.

try to power drain pc first. to do that, turn pc off, remove battery and ac adapter. press down power button for 15-20 sec, then but all back in and try to turn pc on. if still no go, you may need to replace battery or ac adapter, f it still wont work, possible motherboard replacement is needed.

Try re-installing the video drivers.
