Just recently, with no warning, 1/2 of my screen is 1/2 black and 1/2 wierd, colored digital lines. It's has been suggested by the repair people that HDTV's are not worth repairing and to just write this one off. It's about 3 years old and up till now has been perfect. Thank You!

When you transfer this pics at pc... they are black or purple too? Could be a problem with the LCD screen viewer or CCD Image sensor go to bad. In both cases this isn't a job that you could solve yourself; this wrong include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.

the only thing to do is emove the battery for about 1 minute. Reinstall it and try to reconfigure the settings, especaiily the color attributes. If it still displays a black screen, send it in to manufacturer's repair facility, Sorry.

broken output dunno why mine has lines in HD mode try changin from HD to normal or from component to normal or other way around

the iris is stuck shut. try banging with the palm of your hand a few times to jar it lose. if its making crunching noise the gears are broken on lens housing. not econimcal to repair

Replace the Ribbon Wire between the Mini DV unit and the lcd screen. Samsung wanted $136 to repair same issue for me. Screen started with colored lines eventually going to white lines and finally screen went completely black and stayed black. I replaced the Ribbon Wire after purchasing a copy of the systems schematics and repair manuel online. With total cost of everything i bought to make this repair I saved a little over $115 from what Samsung wanted for the same repair.

this is a chip on film problem it can't be fixed if your set is still under warrenty you can have it replaced. The repair site will scrap the unit because the chip is actually embedded in the screen.

If the colors are good and solid with no fades, only black streaks, then black is the culprit. I suggest replacing the black cartridge.
