Hi
here is all the information I could find from the Remington Society of America

Remingtons manufactured after 1921 have a code located on the left side of the barrel near the frame that identifies the year and month of manufacture. The following letters correspond to the months of the year, for example B=January, L= February and so on:
B - L - A - C - K - P - O - W - D - E - R - X

It shows a thumbnail picture of the locations, I'm sorry I tried to enlarge it, but when it placed it on the page, it went back small again.

I guess you'll have to zoom in to look at it.
Just hit control and the + sgn at the same time to enlarge, and control and the - sign to shrink it back.

I hope this helps you identify it better.

What model is my Marlin with the sn #10655597

You can get that from the roll mark on the barrel near the left side of the receiver. (opposite the ejection port) It would help to know if it is a semi auto or other type rifle. Serial numbers are not any help in determining model designations. I would guess it to be a variation on the Model 60 semiauto .22 rifle.

My MP 15-22 about is 3 weeks ago. Yesterday a Rem Thunderbolt 40 grain 1255 velocity round exploded prematurely as it was loading. The rifling near the breech is damaged. What do you suggest I do.

What sort of damage are you talking? It's a .22 soft lead bullet inside a thick, steel barrel. What sort of damage could it do to the rifling? Are you sure it's not simply powder fouling from firing?

What was year of manufacture of Browning .22 lr semi-auto rifle serial number 1T99556?

hi Anonymous.

I've been through several possibilities on the Browning 'Date Your Gun' website at
Browning Date Your Gun The most promising is here:
22 Semi Auto Rifle The codes here are consistent with the one you put up, and describes itself as the '22 Semi-Auto Rifle'

From this document, single digit before the T indicates manufacture between 1956 and 1967. The T means 'Long Rifle Caliber'. The remaining digits are the serial number. Since they started with a four digit number, and yours is close to 100,000, I'd guess closer to the end of that era than the beginning. Later than that and the serial would start with two digits for year of manufacture. Earlier than that, there are no serial number records. Manuals can be found here :

Hoping this answers your question!

Remington rifle 700 series ser#B6311286 prefiring while on safety

"pre-firing" makes no sense and by design the Rem. 700 cannot fire while ON safe, but it can fire as the safety is removed.
Call Remington. They know about the problem.

What was year of manufacture of Browning .22 lr semi-auto rifle serial number T80 1286?

Hi the number you list doesn't seem to be right "T" designates a 22L/R the 80 seems to be in the wrong place if the 8 was in front of the letter T it would be a 1968 rifle, the system changed in 1969 to 1973 and again in 1974 when production was moved to Miroku in Japan

22 semi auto rifle jamming

Often with semi-automatic rim fire rifles, the most common cause of jams/failures to feed are related to improper cleaning. Most of these low-powered rifles utilize a blowback action to fire, and thus require a clean breech and chamber to provide proper obturation of the cartridge. Give your rifle a thorough cleaning, including a detail strip and clean. If you are experiencing other types of stoppages such as failures to extract or failure to feed, you may be experiencing a mechanical issue such as a worn extractor claw, or a weak magazine follower spring.
