My 37 inch olevia flat screen has a punicture spot in the screen can this be repaired or replaced?

I soudcs like the backlight inverter board is bad or the power supply is npt supplying 24vdc to the inverter board.

Replacement screens are hard to come by for this model as the copany went out of business and no parts are made. The best way and price on a replacement screen is to watch e-bay and craigs list and buy a whole tv that wont power on and swap LCDs. Also www.RNS-Systems.com has uses LCD screens

Unfortunately this sounds like a problem within the screen & could only be repaired by replacing the screen totally.

That may have been an expensive tantrum - I doubt if it will be repaired as a warranty item and the typical cost of replacement makes it a costly lesson.
I doubt if the LCD panel is priced under $6-700.

pixels are bad/going dead. look up dead pixel issue on PSP for really good explanations, or just trust me.
