SOURCE: Panasonic PV-GS31 won't FOCUS

Just a hunch as sometimes the micro will get scrambled so take off the battery as well as the battery or batterys for the date and time. and let the unit sit for 24 hours power back up as see if that cleared your error If not send away to get repaired.

SOURCE: NEED HELP

G'day,

I also have the same problem and after almost buying a replacement I thought I would try one time to get it to go.

What I did was start the cam without a tape in it, let it bring up the little red icon indicating no tape inserted, (it hadn't started flashing "PLEASE RE-OPERATE AFTER PUSHING RESET BUTTON" at this stage) then I inserted my tape. Hey presto, it works although for how long I don't know. I'll immediately start burn my tapes to disc while the going is good.

Hope this helps someone

SOURCE: Panasonic 26X Optical Zoom PV-GS31 Camcorder Power on Problem

One or two parts are most likely faulty. They are fairly easy to replace.
One is the power unit on back where all connectors are made to the unit. The other is a small board right next to the power unit and has the on board battery for date and time. Hardest part of the repair is removing the case. The power unit is on sale on e-bay. The other part may be harder to find, but not impossible.

Very low battery life

I have the same camera. It sounds to me that there is a fault with the camera itself and not the battery. You might be better sending Canon an email and asking them. My battery lasts forever so I would think if you already purchased another battery you've eliminated that problem. It might be the contacts inside the camera that are not accepting the full charge. Does the camera battery on screen show that it's full after you've charged it? Maybe trying charging it overnight and then trying it out the next day.

Could be the locking switch inside the camera itself. Sometimes they get jammed, but can easily be reopened by prodding/pushing on (from the outside) with a toothpick. See this link.

I have the JVC digital minidv camcorder, Model No. GR-D270U an it keeps telling me it's in safety mode and I can't even get the tape out beause the door opens but it's like the mechaism to pop...

After trying the remove-and-reattach-battery exercise, I would suggest you go to the menu and find the setting for initial setup. Select that - which may reset the system.
If not.. then try going to the clock and change the date/time settings, turn the camera off, remove-and-reattach the battery. Re-power the camera, go back and change date/time setting to what's current. And try to eject the tape.

On one of our analog video cameras it seems like there was a tiny little hole someplace on the side of the camera that you could use a tiny small thing like a toothpick to press in there to accomplish a Reset. (It will have tiny raised letters saying "Reset" right beside the little reset hole.)

Sounds like you did two things wrong...you deleted/erased/or formatted the camera using the computer. You disconnected the camera without using the "safely remove hardware" function.

Panasonic PV-GS150 wont eject

Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.

Camcorder Canon ZR 200

First if you have a very bad tape (miniDV) (hard to turn by your hand) the camera will automatically eject coz it cant load the tape to it. it is not a head problem. It seems that you have a mechanical loading issue here. But try to put new miniDV tape. ANd post here what happen. PS Dont use compress gas to clean it you might put new problem. Please use only the head cleaner tape (MiniDV) if you want to clean the head. Hope this may help you
