I've been trying to upload pictures but whenever i plug in my Kodak EASYSHARE Z1285, it won't synchronize and a screen comes up saying the device information can not be found.. how can i sync my pictures?

Search Google for a driver for the specific camera. Or download a copy of Kodak Easyshare. If you already have Easyshare software installed, try re-installing or updating.

You might want to consider NOT using a driver. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

I've had a similar problem with my Z1285.

The problem is probably weak batteries. The Z1285 requires really good batteries. Standard alkaline batteries don't last very long, perhaps a few dozen shots, less if you are using flash.

I've had success using lithium batteries, not the rechargeable type, but the disposable lithium. Specifically, the AA4 Energizer Ultimate Lithium.

EasyShare software checks the pictures and videos being transferred from your device with those already in your collection. The software will not transfer duplicate pictures and videos. For assistance regarding duplicate picture call Kodak support line 1 800 235 6325 (23KODAK) Option 12 on the voice prompt select 1 or software support.

Remove any Kodak Software. Reboot the computer Plug in the camera. This should now be listed as an extra drive in 'My Computer' and/or The scanner/Camera Wizard Window will come up asking what action to take.
