I have a Que Fire, model QPS-525. I would like to remove the Teac CD burner and replace it with a bare Combo drive (CD Read/Write and DVD Read). How do I open that plastic case that encloses the drive? The only visible screws are very small ones on the back that look like they only hold the on/off switch and the firewire ports to a black plastic panel. Thanks. --- Joe

Well you just take a small flat head screwdriver and the side grips and the faceplate just pop right off. Then you get the hooks to release on the inside of the main body by sticking the screwdriver in and popping the hooks.

Que qps 525 cd. Lights up but can not open drive

You need to load the drivers from the cd or find them on the internet. Mine did the same thing untill I reinstalled XP. I don't suggest you'll have to do that. Just find them on the internet... ward bones

I recently picked up a Que!Drive Model QPS-525 at a garage sale, along with the connecting cable and power cable, does it have any value?

If it works fine and you got it at the right price then yes it has value.

Laptops with only one drive could benefit if you want to make a backup copy of your music Cd's then you can copy on th fly.

If a drive on one of your computers fails and you need to install anything then hey presto you are off to the races.

External dives can be very useful in a lot of ways

Que drive not being detected

Sounds like a power issue. Check your power source (cable, plug, outlet) If possible try another power cable, or using a different outlet. It could also be a power adapter issue.

Que Drive ,QPS-525

On the back of the drive or on the bottom you will see something like 12v 12A. The number before the V is your voltage. Take the drive to radio shack or Fry's Electronics and they can help you find the tip you need and could assist you in the proper voltage.
