I have an Admiral Designer Series 22 gallon 2 Speed Super Capacity belt driven washing machine that I bought used without a manual or, apparently, a serial number to identify the exact model.
This washer will not drain or spin so at the end of a cycle, there is still a tub full of dirty water and a load of dirty clothes. We have tried washing smaller loads and still have the same results. We have checked the lid switch which still makes the clicking noise as it's supposed to. Then we checked the hoses for blockage but found nothing. When we lowered the drain hose to empty the tub, it easily filled a bucket a couple of times which proves no blockage within the hoses themselves. We looked at the belt under the washer and it appears to be practically new. When moving the pulleys, they will move freely in one direction and we can see the fins move inside the pump. When moving in the other direction, it will move only about 6 inches before it won't move anymore. I see no "soot" around the transmission and the washer itself makes no unusual noises. In fact, once it reaches the drain or spin part of a cycle, there is no noise at all. However, it will agitate and fill properly. We have yet to test the other switches but we'd like an idea of where to find the other switches and a possible solution.
This machine will rotate the motor to agitate in one direction and then reverse to activate the pump and the clutch for spin. I would remove the inspection plate and watch the motor and pump in action in both wash and spin, go to www.apdepot.com and dig around you will find parts and a wire schematic on this machine.
