These microphones need a Phantom power supply to operate. This power supply gives 48 volts to the microphone in order to make it work.

It seems that the Samson driver has been reported to have some problems with stereo. Your choices are to use the mic in mono (which most recording is done in anyway) or unistall the SoftPre App which Samson provides with the mic and select a generic driver.

SOURCE: No sound through M-Audio preamp and condenser mic

Hi micoach
The condenser mic you are using requires phantom power for it to operate. Pay to check that that is turned on m-audio. Just to be sure.you say you can get sound off the m-audio headphone socket. Just need to check that. You will need to check that you have selected the device for recording from the preferences--audio I/O options menu within audacity. Perhaps check these things and get back to me here if you still have problems.I can go into more detail with you.

Double-check on the side of the microphone to make sure you didn't inadvertently activate the 10db pad.  If so, switch it back to the center position.
Also, on the US-122, make sure that the input is set to "mic" and that you have switched the Phantom Power to the "On" position.

The closest manual I find is at http:// www.mutinymedia.co.uk/tie_clip_mic_files/ecm44b.pdf. Shows where the battery compartment is and gives specs and usage tips.

Check the input and output settings. Look in the preferences or settings menu for "i/o settings" or "i/o setup." You're going to set it from the default internal mic input to this one. It sounds like it may be that simple.

I got a behringer c-1u mic and I plugged my USB in the pc and it says no drivers are installed for this device and also the green light of the mic flashes soon as u connect it then dims out and stops...

Either you haven't yet installed the drivers (usually a CD that comes with - or can be downloaded from Behringer Website),

AND/OR your bios settings dis-allow plug-and-play USB devices. Restart your PC and enter Setup to check..

AND/OR your microphone is bad, have you had success with it on another PC?

AND/OR your USB Port is bad - are you plugging directly into the PC's USB, or a seperate multi-port Hub? I once had a multi-port USB Hub that burned up anything I plugged into it.. Took me about 3 devices to die before I simply changed the hub. Pwoblem solved..

Hope this helps...

I have a Behringer Mic C-1U and its not powering up!

How to Operate a Behringer C-1U

The Behringer C-1U is a USB condenser mic for recording individual instruments. A condenser microphone is a mic that uses vibrations produced by sound to change the distance of internal plates that produce signal. Condenser mics typically require an extra change, known as phantom power, to operate. Since the C-1U is USB powered, phantom power is not needed. The Behringer C-1U has a frequency response that favors sounds around the 10KHz range. This heightens the clarity of recorded signals due to the microphone's treble boost.

Things You'll Need:

* Computer with USB 2.0 port
* USB cable
* Recording software

Instructions

Turn on the computer. When the operating system loads, connect the microphone.

Install any necessary drivers for the C-1U. This will happen automatically when the device is connected.

Select the Behringer C-1U as an input source in any desired audio software. In Windows, click the "Volume" icon in the task bar to open the mixer. Select the C-1U as the primary input. On Macs, use the "Audio/MIDI Setup" in the "System Preferences" menu to select the C-1U as the primary input

Note: make sure you activate the phantom power on the mic. That's the only way to power up the microphone.

Have a nice day.

The c-1 mic is not working. The red light will not turn on when i put it into my laptop

With the C-1 it does require phantom power to work. On the board your using make sure the +48(phantom power) button is pressed in and it should be golden.
If it's the C-1U, the drivers must be installed first. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/C-1U.aspx
Good Luck, Cody J.

Sound card not playing on center channel or rear surrounds

Hello,

Download and install lastest drivers:

Windows 7:
http://www.sabrent.com/drivers/SBT-SP6C-Windows7.zip

XP/2000:
http://www.sabrent.com/drivers/SBT-SP6C-2000-XP.zip

If after that (and rebooting pc) it won't work then your sound card just don't support this feature.

Cheers,
Mike

When i power down my notebook, windows is not shutting down completely which causes a long power up. it came pre-installed. when i turn my computer back on, a screen appears stating windows did not...

First, run a scan disk/check disk option. You usually get prompted for this upon a reboot.
Second, if that doesn't work, windows is smart enough to create a few restore points when new drivers/updates are installed. Open up an explorer window (like my computer or my documents, not internet explorer) and press F1 for the help display. Search for system restore. It's very user friendly, so it should be pretty easy to find it
