I am trying to find a tutorial on how to upgrade the hard drive on my Sony Vaio model PCV-V210P. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: install memory upgrade to Sony PCV V210P

Its very simple. You will find the DIMM slots(where you install the RAM) on the motherboard. Just plug the memory into the slot and use the latches on either side of the latch to lock it in place.
This is what a DIMM slot looks like.

You must firstly install an operating system, assuming there is a hard drive/ssd fitted.
If no hdd fit an hdd and then place an operating system on it.

I have a WD1600 hard drive in my Sony Vaio PCV-2242
Usually you can upgrade to a better model or manufacturer. In the old days you had to be careful as certain OS would only recognize 2gb or less. Today you can pretty much install what you like.

Bootmgr missing error due to following reasons...

  • Wrongly configured or corrupt files
  • Corrupt/faulty hard drive or hard drive's boot sectors
  • Hard drive/OS upgrade problems
  • Outdated BIOS
  • Loose or damaged IDE cables
