Ricoh Gx7000 inkjet A3 Printer - what does 'error 990' mean?

CHECK THE INK CARRIAGE IS MOVING ACROSS TO HOME POSITION. THIS CAN BE CAUSED BY THE INK CLEANING PROCESS NOT LOWERING THE LOWER TANK PROPERLY. IF YOU REMOVE THE RIGHT HAND COVER YOU WILL SEE THE CLEANING UNIT. THERE IS A WHITE SHAFT WITH A CROSS HEAD SLOT YOU CAN TURN TO LOWER IT AND THEN REBOOT THE PRINTER WITH LUCK IT WILL GET RID OF THE CODE. HOPE THIS HELPS. • Horizontal encoder film broken, disconnected, or installed upside down.

Paper miss feed error indicates to :

1- Piece of paper inside duplexer unit check out from the back side..

2- magnetic strip (encoding tape on the top of linear steel bar) is dirty or it has some ink spots

use alcohol & cotton pass along the strip from the 2 side.

Note turn your machine off and un-plug the power

To clean behinde the head area you should first turn the machine on, when the head move to the left side unplug the power cable

I would call your vendor. Or if you bought the sawgrass technologies ink, give tech support a call and have them help you download the necessary ICC profile for your printer. Often they can walk you through setup. You will need to delete the current one you son installed.

Error 990 means the problem is with the scanning unit which is basically called a laser unit as well that requires a replacement.

If it's the entire board I don't really know. You might be better off getting a new printer If it's a chip you might try here...Good luck

Unfort don't have a solution but curious as to the ink you were using. Were you using OEM inks or dye sublimation ink from like Sawgrass ?
