It usually is, but you'll need to first determine where it's leaking from. You'll need to run it with the back off to find the leak. An exploded view should be available at www.appliancepartspros.com

Dishwasher BEKO DSFS 1531 W pump runs continious at end of cycle , where might it leak from for this to happen or wheres the water coming from when i tilt the machine, plaese help lol

The float inside the base of the machine will turn the pump on if there is water in there. It is an anti flood protection. If there is water inside every time you use it, there is a leak somewhere. Check the door seals and the hoses underneath. There will be soap stains where the leak is. Check the water level inside when its filled up. The water level should be at least 1/2 inch below the front lip of the tub.

Zanussi dishwasher anti flood device

There is a water level pressure switch that is your issue. Replace that or if youre lucky, clean the hose/pipe connected to the pressure switch and it could work again.

Hoover nextra 7 program stops part way though

A possible fault that is consistent with your symptoms is that the water level sensing is confused. This is usually a column of water in a plastic tube bearing on a diaphragm switch which operates when the weight of water is sufficient to trip it.

The water level is adjusted by a dial which alters the pre-loading on the switch, meaning it needs a bigger or lesser column of water to trip it. If there is a leak in the tube, that would account for the water level trying to cycle. Any water underneath the machine? If so it is a good indicator that is the right track. If not it still may be that fault, but the leaking water is just not making it to the floor.

It is normal that the program suspends for filling, and it will not give rise to an error. Also normal is flow through the detergent drawer whenever there is a fill cycle. What is not normal is the repeated fill cycles.

Also investigate the actual switch associated with the level sensing. It might have bad contacts.

Please post what you eventually find the fault to be. Helps everyone, especially those trying to diagnose at a distance.

Kenmore Washer only leaking from one area

Ive never worked on a Kenmore but it may just be the overflow outlet. All washing machines have an overflow which will dump water out from the top of the tub if it overfills but sometimes on high fill water level, clothes can splash around and cause a "wave" of water to splash out over the overflow outlet. Check to see if the leak only occurs when you have selected high level fill.

I HAVE A BOSCH DISH WASHER SGS43A32GB/01 WHICH APEARS TO FLOOD NEAR THE END OF CYCLE

check base for leaks or holes. This is a very thin sheet of stainless steel that gets easily punched if some heave shart or pointed cutlery is falling onto it. also check proper operation of float switch underneath it.

Hi, i've taken the top and sides off my Bosch dish washer sgs45e02gbas it has not been working. the problem is ....when you switch it on is there is a pumping/throbing noise but doesn't continue...

Hello Phillip,

The reason only the pump runs anytime its powered up is because the flood detector has detected water in the base of the dishwasher and until that water is gone only the pump will run. That flood detector is (when looking at it from the front) is in the left front corner, its a styrofoam disc with a rod in the center of it and has floated up activating the flood switch on the letf side wall where the water enters the tub (can be seen on the left side with side panel removed) if thier is no water in the base frame perhaps some foreign object has wedged itself under the sytrofoam disc holding it up. Until the water is out of the base frame only the pump will run as long as the flood switch is tripped.

Possible things that will make water be in the base frame are,
oversuds from too much detergent
a leak of any component or hose
a defective water level switch allowing it to overfill

After commencing a programme my Hotpoint BF71 dishwasher takes in water but overfills, filling the whole of the tub nearly to door level. The waste pump starts for a short burst and then more water comes...

Check for a float switch that senses the water level. It may have two level sense of filled and overfill the latter would trigger the waste pump to avoid a flood. If the filled switch has failed, that could cause the problem. The waste pump MAY also be triggered on the basis of the filling taking too much time before the filled switch actuates... if it has failed, the time would be exceeded.

Fridgidaire FDB1250REC dishwasher comes on, fills some water in bottom then cycle stops but can hear motor turning on and off, water will drain when I try to start cycle again.

This seems to be the "anti flood" device at the base of the washer is triggered due to water at the base of the washer. This safety device consists of a polystireene float and a micro switch that detects water leaks/spills and automatically puts the washer in pump out mode. You need to find the leak (hose or clamp)dry the base and rectifythe leak it before the washer works.

Bosch SHU9915UC Dishwasher - wash cycle won't happen

hi there your dishwasher has gone into flood protection mode ie. water has leaked into the base and activated the float switch.

to try and locate the leak tip your d/w back to drain the water from the base then remove both side panels and start a program to see if you can see where the water is leaking from, being careful not to touch anything while the d/w is running as live parts are exposed

hope this is of some help
