Now do i reset google as my web page

You likely have malware on your PC which has hijacked your home page.
  • Download Malwarebytes (free), and have it scan your pc
  • Delete/quarantine anything it finds
  • Download SuperAntispyware (free), and have it scan your PC
  • Delete/quarantine anything it finds.

To reset your home page:
  • Open the page you want as your home page in your Browser
  • Next, go to your browser settings (in google, its the "gear" on the Upper RH corner of your browser; in IE, also click on the "gear" and select "internet options)
  • In the section for setting home page, select "use Current" (the page you opened in the 1st step)
  • Hit OK
If the home page you set (google) doesn't appear, you will need to have further Malware/virus removal work done.

Crawler.com has become my homepage and i hate it. I've tried to set google back as my homepage, but it stays as crawler. How do i fix this?

You probably have the crawler virus. Go to www.malwarebytes.org and download the free version of MalwareBytes. Install it and update it. After it is updated, run a scan. Updating it is pretty straight forward. Let me know if you have any questions.

I want to remove bing and return my browser to google default page and restore the tool bar on top of same. thanks BV

I assume your browser currently has a Bing search page as the default (home) page, which displays when Firefox launches. You can reset Firefox to use any web address as the home page.

Here are the steps:
(1) In the browser, go to Tools > Options > General
(2) In the field labeled "home page", type the URL of the page you wish to use. (For a basic Google search page, the URL would be "http://www.google.com/" For a basic Bing search page, the URL would be "http://www.bing.com/")
(3) Then click "OK" at the bottom
novaweb_4.gif

There's also a shorthand way to do this:
(1) First, go to the web page you wish to use as your new home page.
(2) Move your mouse to the icon in the address bar (near top of the browser), and then drag the icon over to the "home" button.

For more on setting the Firefox home page, see this help page from Mozilla.

Search engines redirecting to other sites. I ran the latest Malwarebytes, ccleaner and norton.

First update Malwarebytes, then run a "Full Scan". If the PC needs to re-boot after Malwarebytes completes the full scan then do so.

Right click on the Internet Explorer Icon (do not open the internet explorer) and from the bottom of the drop down menu select "Internet Options". The internet options settings will be displayed on the "General" tab and you will see "Home Page" with a box showing the home page(s) that the browser is using, and remove any that are not the website with your home page, and if your home page is not there then remove them all. You can type in your home page if you know the URL and if you use Yahoo it would be http://my.yahoo.com/ and if you do not know your home page URL then leave the box empty for now.

Then, look down below the "Home Page" box and below the browsing history, you will see "Search" with a magnifying glass and it will say "Change search defaults" with a "Settings" button. Select the button and the "Change Search Defaults" settings will pop up. From the Change Search Default settings there will be a box with a list of "Search Providers", and remove everything that is not "Live Search" or your home page web site such as Yahoo or Google, and then reset the search provider that has your home page website as the "Default" search provider, and then select OK from the "Change Search Defaults". If your home page search provider is not listed then remove them all except for "Live Search" and at least the web browser will open up to a Microsoft search page, and from there you can navigate to your home page web site and then set it as your home page.

Then, select the "Advanced" tab from the right of the "Internet Options" menu and just below the advanced settings box select the "Restore advanced settings" button, and then select the "OK" button and the "Internet Options" should close.

You should now be able to open the Internet Explorer and the web browser should open up to the search provider that you set as the "Default" search provider, and from there go to your home page and then set that web page as your "Home Page".

If you have a registry cleaner you should now run the program to remove any malicious or invalid registry entries, and I would suggest using "Registry Mechanic".

I would strongly suggest that you delete the norton security from your PC and try this security program, it is a free edition but that does not effect the scanner or what it will remove, and the paid version only has a few more options that are nice but not really necessary, and this progam will get rid of a lot of infections that norton could not remove from your PC, but do not just take my word for it, try it out and see for yourself, and if you are not satisfied with how the program performs then you can always delete it, and it will work a lot better at protecting your PC than than norton ever will.

You can download AVG Fee Edition from this site:
