Did I see something about swollen capacitors?...That is your problem right there...chances are if you take a blow dryer to the capacitors and heat them up the set will come on...BTW it has nothing to do with "safe mode energy saver" what ever that is...replace the capacitors and it will work for a few more yrs...an easy and inexpensive fix
Your on a safe mode energy saver they built then tvs like that for storm and lighting storms ok only push power button one then wait 15 min. then tv should come on.

In August 2014 I replaced the power board. I guess it worked for about 2 1/2 years before it went out again. Today I thought that I would tackle putting another power board in it. But I decided to check out some of the questions here first before I go and buy another board. I'm even thinking about putting solder on top of the bulge of the capacitors to see if that would work. I tried for the last time since the tv went completely out to turn off the side main power button and turn it back on while holding the front on/off power button down at the same time until the red dot stopped blinking. When it stopped blinking. I quickly removed my finger and the tv came on. Don't know how long it's going to last but it's on now. It's not worked for months until today. Before I replace it with a new board I'm going to solder the top of the capacitors bulged splits top first and see if that works.
