Our refrigerator is sometimes making a clicking noise from the back. It is currently working fine but we have had troubles with it before.
Last year the ice-maker stopped making ice; we had a technician out many times who in the process damaged our fan so it had to be replaced. Then we got another technician out who cleaned dust from the cooling pipes and it worked! We've since vacuumed these regularly ;-)
Earlier this year the ice maker started behaving like last year but it eventually started working as expected, just in time for the hot season.
But that clicking noise comes and goes. Could this be a problem? The compressor? A relay somewhere? And can we fix it?
I don't know if it is true but we also feel that it is making more noise in it's normal run, but it could just be because we are more aware of it...
No, its not the water valve. I have the S25DRSS and when WHIRLPOOL replaced the electronic plaket, all the noices and problems disappeared....I was lucky to have my guarantee extrended since this woudl cost me EUR 250 + the technician's charge....
I have the same problem and I think it may be the water valve S25. I am going to order one anyway...

Hi,
Here is a tip that I wrote about refrigerators and the fan noise that they develop sometimes...

Thank you!
I suppose that makes sense - since we are using a lot of ice these days ;-) I have no idea how to change such a valve but please keep me informed if it solves your problem...
Yes I am told its 2 boards which are faulty. Check the ice vend lever and light. The light should not flash when ice is being dispensed. The clicking can be heard when the water vend lever is pressed also.. Apparently the fault is the same board relays.
