No interent connection

Your Linksys wireless router needs to be connected to a DSL or cable modem which needs to configured with the settings that your Internet Service Provider gave you.
To test your Internet connection connect a LAN cable fron your conputer to the DSL/cable modem. If you cannot connect to the Internet using this methos, you need to contact your ISP and the can check the connection to your DSL/cable modem.

I want to set up my Wireless-G 2.4 GHZ 54Mbps

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Have Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 GHZ 54Mbps Broadband router. Bought a new desk top computer and it won't let me install the CD. Linksys tech support was unable to assist because the warranty had expired. I was...

Hi there, you don't need to install from the disk. Make sure your modem connects to your router and then the computer's LAN port is connected to the LAN port of the router. Open internet explorer and in the address line type 192.168.1.1 this will connect you to the router's setup. On older Linksys routers the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin." You then can find the wireless setup to configure your router. Make sure if you use a WEP code you use the same code from your computer's wireless adaptor. Good Luck...

Not really a problem - but a question

Remember that router will use only 54Mb of bandwidth which will be shared across all users (as long as router is used as access point). Simple mathematics:
1 user = 54Mbps
2 users = 27Mbps
10 users = 5Mbps

Also please note you might have further probems with channel interferences between users when you have all users in the common area

Also remember that 54Mbps will be only wireless Speed. They all will share common Internet connection
